Check out the Whales in Los Cabos!!
Every year, up to 9 species of whale visit the Baja Peninsula, in search of the perfect location to give birth to their calves. The waters off the southern Baja have been used for centuries as the place to give birth for a variety of Whale species. The most well known of all the species are the California Gray Whale (which is known to give birth in Bahia Magdalena) and the Humpback Whales. Visitors to Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo have been enjoying these creatures for many years on our whale watching tours.
The Humpback whales are traditionally the whales more frequently spotted on our Whale Watching Tours. They are the ones putting on the spectacle of Breaching, Tail Slapping, Fin Slapping, etc. Although the Humpback does attract the most attention, the Gray whale also does something very special in this area. A more curious species, the Gray Whales have been known to come up to the Whale Watching tours, allowing themselves to be patted (Like a dog).
Whale Watching Tours
Whale Watching Tours in Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo are offered seasonally, between Dec and May. The best way to get up close to the whales is heading out on a boat for one of our whale watching safaris, however if boats are not for you, you can often see the whales putting on a performance right from the beach.
Typically the best option for whale watching tours is the Fast Zodiac style boat that can get you close to the whales quickly, giving you the most time with them. There are also several whale watching tours for the more budget conscious, such as a small sail boat, or a variety of larger boats.
If you happen to be on the water for any reason (Sport Fishing, Sunset Cruises, etc.) during Cabo Whale Watching Season, you are highly likely to find yourself up close to these Majestic Animals. to take any water tour during these months, you will likely have the chance to spend some time watching these amazing creatures from right up close.

What a great morning out on the water with these amazing creatures! The Company that provided us our Tour was Cabo Expeditions who did an awesome job.So many whales, although we did have to go fairly far to find them, so we were happy to be in a high speed Boat. We got to spend plenty of time with a mother and fairly new baby, which was amazing to see. We were luck enough to have a grey what come right up to the boat so we could pet it, which was the highlight! I thought that was only in Magdalena Bay, and it was very rare, but it happened to us!Ash made sure the booking process was super simple and we were picked up as promised on time!
