There’s never been a better time to come down to Cabo, and while you’re here, our team at Cabo Discount Tours knows at least six places you’ll want to go to take that holiday-card worthy photo.
For most of us, the weather is turning toward winter. There is a promise of frost in the air. Some unlucky Midwesterners have already gotten their first snow of the year. Guess where the weather still sports highs in the low 80s with evening lows coming in at a pleasant 60 degrees? Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, Mexico, that’s where!
El Arco de Cabo San Lucas
No trip to Cabo is complete without a cruise out to the southern tip of Cabo San Lucas. Locally known as “El Arco,” which means “the arch,” this distinctive land formation is a popular photography spot.
Cabo Discount Tours offers a multitude of ways to enjoy El Arco. If you’re looking for a quiet evening, a sunset cruise will put you at El Arco just in time to watch the sun melt into the ocean. If a party scene is more your speed, we know the best cruises for music and fun as you sail past El Arco and out into Cabo San Lucas Bay.
Take a day trip and explore Land’s End and Playa del Amor (Lover’s Beach), conveniently adjacent to El Arco. Pack your snorkeling equipment so you can see the beautiful tropical fish that enjoy the shallow, warm water.
We have access to a number of boats for private sailing charters, so your trip out can be as relaxed or fun as you want it to be.
Local tip: From December to March, you might spot whales as they migrate! Now that is a photo op!
25-Acre Flora Farms
Privately owned by the Greene family, Flora Farms is a 25-acre organic working farm located in the foothills of the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains in San Jose del Cabo. It boasts a farm grocery market for Flora’s Field Kitchen, The Culinary Cottages, and retail that offers Flora Farm produce, pastries, and artisanal bread from the bakery.
Depending on the time of year, there is always something to do at Flora Farms, and the setting is so beautiful everything is a photo op. Choose from a farm tour, cooking classes, sunset yoga, painting workshops, even Christmas cookie decorating events – everyone can find something of interest here. At Flora Farms, there is beauty all around you, so no matter what you do, be sure to take a picture!
Sport Fishing in the Sea of Cortez
Whether you are a first-timer or an old pro, sport fishing is not an opportunity you’ll want to miss. The most popular fish in Cabo are Striped Marlin, Dorado, and Roosterfish. Shark, swordfish, and wahoo also make the southern tip of the Baja one of the best fishing grounds in the world.
Cabo Discount Tours has sport fishing tours to suit your style. Let us know what you’re interested in. Just hop on board and let us take you where the fish are biting!
There is no better picture than that of a first-timer holding up their first catch. That’s a keeper!
Canon de la Zorra (Canyon of the Fox)
Tear yourself away from the beach for a day to experience everything Cabo has to offer. Known for our beautiful beaches, inland treasures like Canon de la Zorra can get overlooked. Take a guided 50-mile drive out to Sol de Mayo, a sleepy little community located near Canon de la Zorra. From there, enjoy a 20-minute moderately easy hike up through the canyon to the waterfall.
Don’t forget your camera! This hike sports some of the most beautiful and indigenous flora and fauna of the area. If you’re lucky, you may even see some wildlife on the trail like lizards, roadrunners – maybe even a tarantula.
The real showstopper is the 15-meter high waterfall. Surrounded by a granite rock oasis, the water falls into a small pond, cooling the desert around it. Take off your hiking boots and dip your feet in the cool water.
These pictures are headed for the scrapbook!
La Paz Whale Shark Swimming
You’ll need your underwater camera so you won’t miss out on taking a picture while swimming with a whale shark.
Cabo Discount Tours will arrange for you to be picked up at your hotel and driven out to La Paz and La Paz Bay. Once there, you’ll be given your snorkeling equipment and then go out on the boat to spend some time snorkeling with these gentle giants of the sea.
Your guides will share educational information while you ease your way into the water to make new shark friends.
Whale shark tours are seasonal and offered Monday through Saturday, October 1 – April 30 every year.
Scuba Diving Adventures
Some of the best vacation pictures are made underwater. That’s just what you’ll want to do on this excursion.
We have a multitude of tours available for scuba divers. We provide highly qualified staff to show you around, whether you are a first-timer or have had lots of experience.
The easiest way to book the best tour for you and your family is to speak with one of our talented and experienced Cabo Discount Tour team members. We are familiar with all the tours we offer, because we don’t recommend anything we haven’t experienced for ourselves.
Let us know your experience level, interest in the dive, and we can find something we know you’ll love. Jaques Cousteau described the Sea of Cortez as the Aquarium of the World. Come to Cabo San Lucas to see why!
