You can learn how to scuba dive in Cabo San Lucas through the Discover Scuba course, where you will learn all about the basics of scuba diving. If you are an experienced scuba diver, you can take a more advanced class to receive additional certifications. Before planning your trip to Cabo, schedule a scuba diving course to learn more or get certified.

Beginners Can Learn to Scuba Dive in Cabo San Lucas!

The Discover Scuba Diving course is perfect for beginners. The one-dive mini course gives divers an introduction to scuba diving. It does not provide you with a scuba certification, but it serves as a way to explore the activity in a brief class during your vacation. If you end up loving it, you can sign up for a full certification course, or you can get certified back home so that you are ready to go for your next Cabo vacation. We know that scuba diving can seem scary for beginner divers. Our instructors teach you all the basics of scuba diving so that you will feel comfortable going for your first dive in no time!

Open Water Scuba Diving

For this course, visitors need to set aside 2-3 days. The PADI Open Water Scuba Diver class is the first level of autonomous scuba diving. During the course, divers will learn all about diving skills and safety. During the course, you will participate in four open water dives, skills training, and dive theory. If you want to get ahead of the game, take the theory portion of the class online before you arrive.

Advanced Open Water

Already an experienced open water scuba diver? Take the next step by participating in the PADI Advanced Open Water scuba course. This class takes place over two days. It includes five open water dives, and participants learn more about diving techniques and specialties. This includes deep diving and night diving. Take this course as an opportunity to learn more about scuba and to become more advanced in your diving skills.

Specialty Scuba Diving Courses

Cabo Discount Tours offers specialty scuba classes for experienced divers looking to learn something new. Specialty classes offered include:

These classes are typically just one day long. A vacation to Cabo is the perfect time to further elevate your scuba skills.

Rescue Diver Course

Interested in becoming a Divemaster (a certified diving guide) or Scuba Instructor? The PADI Rescue Diver course is required in order to do those things. During this class, you will learn about different rescue procedures, diver first aid, and oxygen use. In addition, you will learn how to spot when a diver is struggling or having issues and learn what to do in those situations. Cabo is a great place to complete this rescue class if you plan to teach scuba back at home!

Professional Level Course – Get Certified as a Professional in Scuba Dive in Cabo

This course is another required step to eventually becoming a certified Divemaster. In order to start this course, you must have already completed a rescue diver course and have a minimum of 60 dives. Cabo is the perfect place to work on your professional certification. Enjoy learning new things in the beautiful Pacific or Sea of Cortez waters. Keep in mind, you don’t have to live by the ocean to use your Divemaster or instructor certification. Many deep-water pools offer scuba certification in places that don’t have access to the ocean.

Planning to Scuba Dive in Cabo!

If scuba is something that interests you, schedule one of these courses before you leave for vacation. Scheduling ahead of time ensures that you will have a spot in the class once you arrive. The courses start at $120 per person. The classes are taught in a group, but if you are interested in more personalized instruction, private courses are available. For the course, you can rent any necessary scuba equipment that you need. We included the following with the course: tanks, weights and belts, and snacks aboard the boat. Bring your own swimsuit, underwater camera, towel, and some dry clothes to change into. If you already have scuba equipment, bring that as well to avoid additional rental fees. In addition, if you are taking a more advanced course and are already a certified diver, bring your certification card.
