Further north, Bahia Magdalena is known for it’s tranquil safe waters and the Gray whales. Whales come here every year to give birth and to spend the first month or so of their lives. A shallow bay, this area seems to be a safe haven for these impressive creatures.

Scuba Diving
Definitely not the most well known location in Mexico for SCUBA Diving, this definitely rates in our ‘Things to do in Cabo San Lucas’. The southern Baja offers some spectacular locations for Scuba. While the water in the Caribbean is consistently clearer and warmer and Cozumel is known for its walls, drift diving and Cenotes, the southern Baja has so much to offer.
The fact that our water is not so clear, only goes to show it is much more nutrient rich, leading to a greater quantity of fish.
Cabo Pulmo for example is packed with such a variety of fish, that sometimes you just want to push them out of the road to see what’s behind them. In better times, you would see schooling hammerheads regularly off Gordo Banks, we still have a huge variety of creatures to see on every dive. Schooling rays and whale sounds are not uncommon in their season.
Lands End offer some great wall dives, whilst San Jose has some almost untouched dive sites offering a variety of dive experiences for divers of every level.

One of the most popular things to do in Cabo San Lucas is horseback riding on the beach at sunset.
If you’re staying at a beachside property, you could almost guarantee that near the end of the day someone will appear with horses. Many of these horses don’t look particularly well cared for and as such we recommend taking your horseback riding tour a little further away from home.
Being a Desert area, Camels seem like a great idea. These amazing animals offer an experience of a lifetime. Hop on the back of one of these spectacular creatures and imagine yourself wandering through the deserts of Egypt.
